The third edition of immersphere – International Fulldome Festival will take place from December 5–8, 2024 at the Planetarium of Brasília.
The festival will offer a program of immersive films – designed for exhibition in planetariums or semi-spherical screens – that may be submitted by any artist, producer, or filmmaker without geographic restriction.
In addition to film screenings, the festival will offer a series of workshops and a symposium aimed at fostering artistic discussions and debates on immersive and audiovisual content.
This edition also offers the following awards:
An immersive cosmic odyssey, interpreting “outer space” in a broad sense—from the universe to the minutiae of reality. It merges real and artificial imagery with a symphony from “film score” to “electronic minimalism,” supporting visuals ranging from fractal nebulae and AI-generated dimensions to nature and human forms, creating a vivid, engaging audiovisual journey through a profoundly impossible space.
Rocco Helmchen & Johannes Kraas
Since 2009, the creative duo Rocco Helmchen and Johannes Kraas have collaborated on most of their projects. Their main focus lies in the creation of immersive experiences for dome theaters and planetariums, seeking a balance between art, science, and entertainment. In this field, they have realized numerous projects, ranging from planetarium feature shows and timelapse travelogs to image shows for companies and experimental art projects. The two artists have especially emphasized the perfect symbiosis between visuals and music in various forms of immersive media.
